MIMLS together with the Department of Allied Health Sciences, Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) will be hosting an International Biomedical Laboratory Science Day Celebration and we wish to invite all of you to join us to celebrate the achievements of these healthcare professionals:

Every year, the 'International Biomedical Laboratory Science (BLS) Day' is held on the 15th of April to promote the key role Biomedical Laboratory personnel play in the diagnosis, treatment, and research and development of modern medical sciences in our healthcare systems. The theme for the International BLS Day this year is 'Guardians of Quality and Patient Safety: Biomedical Laboratory Scientists'.
We are honoured to announce that the event will be graced by Emeritus Professor Tan Sri Dr. Mohamed Salleh bin Mohamed Yasin, the Former Vice Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Founding Dean of the first Faculty of Allied Health Sciences in Malaysia, who will be sharing about the 'History of Biomedical Laboratory Profession in Malaysia'.
Besides sharing on the background of the International BLS Day, and the history of MIMLS, the other speakers will also be highlighting on the implementation of the Allied Health Professions Act 2016 (Act 774). Attendees will also be enlightened on what are the possible career pathways for a Biomedical Science graduates.
