MIMLS was invited to the 55th Annual Convention of the Philippine Association of Medical Technologists, Inc. (PAMET) held on 1 - 4 December 2019 at the Philippine International Convention Centre, Metro Manila, Philippines. 

With the theme of "Sustaining Excellence, Inspiring the Future", the convention was held in conjunction with the Asian Forum on Medical Technology under the auspices of Asia Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists (AAMLS). It was attended by more than 3,300 local and foreign delegates.

The Board of Directors (BOD) Meeting of AAMLS was held in conjunction with this convention. MIMLS was represented by our Past President Ms. Faridah Robiah Ismail (2nd Vice Chairman of AAMLS), President Mr. Khew Jye Kang, Honorary Secretary Mr. Tan Kian Shing and Council Member Ms. Harvinder Kaur Lakhbeer Singh.

The Asian Forum on Medical Technology was held with the theme "Breakthroughs and Advances in Medical Technology: The Asian Perspectives". Ms. Faridah was invited to deliver a talk on 'Health Informatics: Redefining Efficiency in Laboratory Services'. Other speakers include Ms. Chang Pi-Yueh (TAMT - Taiwan), Dr. Salakchit Chutipongvivate (AMTT - Thailand), Mr. Victor H. Lumboy (PAMET - Philippines), Dr. Eddie Ang (SAMLS - Singapore), Mr. Maung Maung (MMTA - Myanmar), Dr. Miswar Fattah (PATELKI - Indonesia) and Mr. Hironori Katayama (JAMT - Japan).

MIMLS is one of the founding members of the AAMLS representing Malaysia. AAMLS is currently represented by member associations across Asia including Brunei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, Phillipines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
